Set boundaries for chat, photographs and privacy
Choose what to share, when to share it and how to respond to requests.
Decide your limits before a request arrives
Think about whether you want to share a surname, workplace, social account or personal photographs. You can keep a conversation on the site while deciding. There is no deadline for revealing private information, and someone else’s openness does not create an obligation for you.
Use a clear sentence
Try “I prefer not to share that yet” or “Please ask before sending photographs”. You do not need a detailed justification. If a boundary is ignored, you can end the conversation. Do not promise secrecy or confidentiality on behalf of a platform.
Respect the same choices in return
Do not forward messages, publish screenshots or tag someone without their agreement. Sharing a photograph privately does not authorise wider sharing. Agree on what you may tell friends about a date without revealing another person’s identity or details they want to keep private.
